W! Is there anyone that you aspire to work with that you haven’t previously? Who do you think is the hottest in the business today but talent wise and director wise?

DD The best director in the business today, hands down is Axl Braun, the second would be Brad Armstrong. They’re my two favorites. It’s funny because Axl’s always believed in me. He’s always pushed me. Me and Brad used to not get along back in the day. It was my attitude and because I was just full of myself. We’ve actually become pretty good friends now. He’s put me in his movies, we’re pretty good friends so we’re good. Really good director, I like his style. Really, really cool. He never gets too uptight. He’s a very cool cat in just the way he directs. Now Axl’s a little bit different. He’s very cool also but he takes more of a funny approach you know? He makes you laugh, You’re allowed to make jokes. He’s a little more ‘jokey’. You can fuck with him even while he’s doing something. Now Brad is a director you don’t want to mess with too much. In the moment you don’t want to fuck around with him too much. He’s in there. He’s serious.

W! All business….okay.

DD Just too very different styles, I like them both. As far as the girls go, my favorite girls are from the past. I love Janine, she’s an all time favorite. Jill Kelly. Sydnee Steele. Savanna Samson was one of the….I wanted Savanna to be my wife (combined laughs) those are the girls I like. But today’s girls? They’re so young. I’m thirty nine years old. I’ve never been to one party since my return to the business with a date. People even ask if I’m gay. I’m like fuck no, I’m not gay. I just don’t get along with anybody. So it’s weird. It’s not like it used to be. Maybe I don’t pursue it enough. Maybe I don’t ask. I don’t know. I just assume they’re not going to like me so I don’t mess with them too much.

W! Well a lot of the girls of today are fixated on technology. With IPhones, texting and what not….

DD And that’s another thing. I think that’s what killed it for me. You look at twitter and IPhones and Facebook and their faces are stuck to that God damn phone all the way through dinner. I remember going to dinner this one time. It wasn’t a date, just a group thing. There’s a buddy of mine Seth Gamble he had a couple of chicks with him and he’s like hey Dale come to TGI Friday’s these girls think you’re really hot and want to hook up with you. I’m like okay, cool let’s go. And when I go and eat I might look at my phone once just to make sure I’m not interrupted. But they’re in their hands in front of their faces. The only time I saw….it was the top of their heads the whole time.

DD They talked but as they were texting and eating. Emailing and updating their Facebooks and mad tweeting. At the end of the day Seth was too, that’s his thing. They’re like hyenas. All you can see is their shoulder blades and the tops of their heads. That’s what they look like. So they’re slouched over the table like hyenas on their phones and I’m like what the fuck is this? (Combined laughs). But I can’t get mad. It’s a generation thing.

W! It is for sure.

DD That’s what they do. I can live without my phone or computer.

W! Oh yeah, for sure.

DD They will actually cry. I’ve seen girls cry thinking they’ve misplaced their phones and if their computers are down or twitter is down. They’ll cry like their mom just died.

DD So I just keep to myself. I mean I don’t even live on that side of town anymore. I don’t live in the valley. My whole life is music and beach volleyball and tournaments. When I work, I work in porn for that two hours and I go home and I really don’t live that life.

It talks about even Caprioti. It talks about the relationships. It talks about everything. The trials and tribulations of a life sentence; what did you do to get here? You can’t hide from it. You can’t get a regular job after that. So I’m into that. I’m pushing Hotrawks. I’m channeling into something different. I don’t know what that is yet but I am starting to look at other avenues. I always want to be in entertainment.

W! Would you consider a career in mainstream productions?

DD Oh of course. I’d love to do that. But you know it’s so hard for a porn guy to do mainstream stuff you know? I want to. I’ve done a few things but I don’t know if I could make a career out of it or how often, but I try. I just did some stuff for HBO so we’ll see.
